What is ΑΣΚ?

Our full name is Alpha Sigma Kappa-Women in Technical Studies.

We are a social sorority with an academic twist, committed to achieving our academic goals, and promoting women in technical fields through leadership, friendship, and support.

What do you mean by "Women in Technical Studies"?

Alpha Sigma Kappa's accepted majors fall into four broad categories: Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Pre-Professional Studies. For the full major breakdown, please visit our Accepted Majors page.

What is a sorority?

A sorority is the name applied to a social, service, or professional Greek organization for women in which the membership is based on scholarship, character, and congeniality and to which membership is attained by invitation.

In simpler terms, a sorority is a great way to get involved, have fun, and form friendships that will last a lifetime.

Does ΑΣΚ haze?

Absolutely not. Alpha Sigma Kappa does not haze in any way, shape or form.

Am I eligible to join ΑΣΚ?

The breakdown, to be considered for a bid, would be as follows:

  1. A cumulative college GPA of a 2.5
  2. Consideration of a technical major (refer to the Accepted Majors page)
  3. Completion of at least three Recruitment events per semester. Recruitment is over a 3 week period, so there's plenty of time to make your three events
  4. A passion to excel academically
  5. A willingness to meet new people and have fun!
